The Bobby Orr Rush -- Catch Me If You Can!!

Remember the pre-cable days huddled around the old black and white TV, fidgeting with the antenna to get WSBK TV38 to come in to see the Bruins? And who can forget doing a jig to the opening tune...

I used to listen to Boston Bruin games on the radio back in the late 70's. It is hard to believe that I could get WBZ Boston, The Spirit of 103 all the way in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. Bob Wilson did the play-by-play, and I still remember that Wednesday was Prince Spaghetti Day. It is funny what you remember. Back then, it was magical to listen to the games. I was not even interested in sports until Bobby Orr came along. He has so much class. It would be nice to meet him one day.

100% ageed man, I truly think if Gretzky played in todays NHL, he wouldn't even come close to the numbers he put up in the 80's...But Orr is totally different, he redefined hockey. His talent level was off the charts

also notice how he never raises his arms in celebration, not that doing so is a bad thing, but no one has class like that nowadays

The good observation both about Orr, and other past greats in any sport. People always fail to realize that if they were playing today, they would have the benefit of all of the training techniques, plus modern medicine. Talent is what you are born with. Similar to Tiger Woods in golf, Orr was born with arguably more talent than any player in history, even Gretzky.
