Great Reno Balloon Race | Rancho San Rafael Park | September 11-13, 2009

Always held the weekend after Labor Day, this event features three days of a mass ascension of over 100 of the nations top hot air balloonists competing in multiple competitions for a prize purse. A trademark of the race is the Dawn Patrol that takes place before the sun rises and provides an amazing spectacle as balloons glow, twinkle, and fly against the dark sky. A comprehensive selection of food, crafts, art and souvenirs awaits spectators along with wonderfully uplifting music to complement this celebration of flight.
