  • It's good skill, but as one enters the grabbling and ground work nearly always martial artists fail from every style. In grabbling if tecniques come of at random then you know ground work well. Arm bars, figure fours, kneck strangles, should come off from any direction from the ground. not easy

  • @McFuckNuggets no, but were not in a war right now so its a good hobby. and in war we all get weapons. so its fair

  • @SushiSkatesOki because learning how to fight in unarmed combat was originally designed as a fat-loss workout? riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight...

  • @McFuckNuggets then dont go out and get into fights. take psychiatric classes and talk them out of it. take martial arts so you arent a fat slob . life goes on

  • @Haartian Actually... now that I think about it... just wearing some tactical gear would make you pretty much unstoppable in close combat unless the person you are fighting has an assault rifle for some reason...

  • @McFuckNuggets

    Haha that's a good idea :D

  • @Haartian But do they force you to not wear tactical gear? Could do some badass Krav Maga otherwise... XD XD XD

  • @McFuckNuggets

As you seem to agree with all my points, I fail to see why I should convince you any further. ;)

Unarmed fighting is for an emergency situation. When you have no weapon at hand (unlikely!), you have to defend yourself unarmed, and that's it. Other from that, unarmed fighting should be perceived as a sport or recreative activity.

Appendix: law environments of most civilized countries force the use of unarmed fighting over weapons for self-defense.

I wouldn't rely on krav maga "knife defense" techniques. Don't get me wrong, they are very nice. Some are simple and fast, some elaborate and sophisticated. Problem is, their chance of success is around 4%.

That's because our modern civilian krav maga has is based on the military krav maga of the israeli forces. What most instructors fail to understand, is that all those "knife defense" tricks assume that you're wearing tactical gear - vest, helmet, gloves.
