I am a guitarplayer myself and a huge fan of Tommy Emmanuel, but this got into my favourite folder because of the brilliance of Nigel Kennedy. What a musician.

His most popular stuff is in his songs like Mombasa, Angelina and Classical gas, which frankly, are exactly as you've described. And it's a shame, where he does utterly brilliant stuff in his arrangements of jazz standards, they don't get the same recognition simply because people can't keep up. It's true though, that he puts A LOT of work in playing to the wider audience, (and is often successful), but unfortunately too often 'tis caviare to the general.
