He's not saying that LeBron is as good as Steve Nash when passing, but LeBron typically handled the ball in Cleveland, so, like Steve Nash, he would be handling the ball.

His point about LeBron is that he will suck up more defensive attention than Steve Nash will, because he is a great scorer. He's not saying he's a better passer than Steve Nash. Because the defense wants to pay close attention to LeBron, chances are Amare's roll will be less guarded if he's playing with LeBron...But obviously none of this is possible now.
