2008 Battle for the Bones Preview

The Voice of the Blazers, David Crane, previews the 2008 Battle for the Bones college football rivalry game as UAB squares off against the Memphis Tigers at Legion Field on Thursday, October 2, 2008. The action kicks off early in the day as the Battle for the Bones Barbeque Contest pits four-person teams from the cities of Birmingham and Memphis to see who cooks the best pork ribs and sauce. The winner of the game will get to keep one of the most unique trophies in college football - a 100-pound bronzed rack of ribs known as 'The Bones', which was created by Birmingham sculptor Heather Holmes - and winners of the Barbeque Contest will win cash prizes and trophies for their efforts.
