  • It's just a spoon with pure fluorescein in water and an uv-lamp. fluorescein as a solid doesn't emit light but when it's dissolved it does. I just noticed that it slowly dissolves when not stirred and that it looked pretty awesome!

  • did you disolve it in only water? I had some troubles dossolving it in water, it dissolved fine in methanol but I don't get those beautifull colours :(

but I agree, this is a big reason why I love chemsitry too..the beauty of colours and the understanding what it comes from - just awesome!

  • @soccer3593 @mrwebmoose just water, no heating needed, and fluorescein [CAS number 2321-07-5] like explained in the title and in the reaction of the uploader!

  • When I did this so-called 'experiment' with @jasperftw7962, our teacher was looking in the back ground wondering where our pure fascination for beautiful visual chemistry came from... (:

  • Damn look at all that science.

  • this is what dreams are mad of

  • Science.Memebase brought me here!

  • too high for this

  • This explains why you can craft torches of redstone!
