This is the Hudson Tenor 2 tenor guitar. They're usually tuned to GCAE, mandolin tuning, or DGDG for irish music, but I quickly found I like DADA. This tune just fell under my fingers.

  • It just seemed to work! DGdg wasn't giving me anything I liked, really, and I read that DAda was legitimate for tenor, so I tried it.

  • and it was a tenor guitar! i spoke too soon. great job

  • Thanks! Sadly not my tenor though; I review guitars for Acoustic magazine here in the UK (that was what got me into ukulele, actually), and I had that on review. I liked it a lot!

  • Ah!Probably bitter because he is from Switzerland, that immaculately clean country of greedy paranoid chocolate munching clock making cowards.

  • Nah, I don't think it's that. I just think he's a twat!

  • Great!

What was your reason for choosing DAda?

Greeting from another open-tuned guy (mirekpatek dotcom in DGdg).

  • How did I miss this? Love tenors What a great song....

  • Nice tone! Didn't realise you were so talented! Kerry xXx

  • Cheers for that, Sam. Sounding good!

  • There's a cheaper one made by Ashbury and sold by Hobgoblin (and probably others). I haven't played it, and their stuff is by no means uniformly great, but it's worth a try at about £150. This one is about £700, for comparison.

  • yup. just four strings. there's a couple of online stores that sell vintage ones and you can buy custom built ones - both options are REALLY pricey. As far as i know your best bet for finding a regular one (i know gibson and epiphone make them) is using ebay.

  • so its just 4 strings?

    who sells these?

    sounds good
