John McCain thinks it's a joke that the regular use of a tire gauge by American motorists would create 4 times more oil out of thin air than the Republican Offshore drilling solution. The real joke is that McCain, and Republicans think offshore drilling is a solution when it can be beaten 4 times over by proper us of a tire gauge.

  • Hi Plisko1..I just wanted to say thank you for posting this video. I myself work at the ACTUAL factory that makes those tire gauges..SYRACUSE GAUGE in Syracuse, New York. Obama's energy idea is far from a joke..proper tire pressure increases mileage and saves at the pump..experts from Nascar and AAA have agreed..I am proud to work for this AMERICAN company..we rely less on foreign products..one's tested in our own facility that don't compare with our quality and accuracy! Thank you again!! USA!!

  • u mean the gages arnt free i kinda wanted 1

  • HR 4440 would have been great if the money had actually made it to the residents of NO. That hasn't happened:

  • I haven't heard the water angle before this. Doesn't the States and Federal Government have a say in what can be done with the water and that say overrides the right of the property owner? If not, then one State could hog all the water from a river and starve out other States downstream. I'm not sure Pickens would be able to divert large quantities of water to Texas without approval of all the involved States and Fed...

  • in 2005, hr 4440

    Double small business expensing from $100,000 to $200,000 dollars for investments in new equipment;

    Provide a 50-percent bonus depreciation for businesses that invest in new equipment and new structures;

    Allow additional issuance of tax-exempt private activity bonds;

    Expand the amount of available low-income housing tax credits; and

    Double Hope Scholarship and Lifetime Learning Credits for students attending colleges and graduate schools in the Gulf Opportunity Zone.

  • I agree that Pickens probably has ulterior motives for pushing the creation of large wind farms. Many think he wants to buy up central areas of the U.S. to build wind farms only so he can obtain water to divert into Texas. However, he makes a great point that we are transferring billions of dollars overseas for foreign oil. Renewable energy sources and natural gas keep money spent on energy here in the United States. Oil is to renewable energy as 8-tracks are to I-Pods. Oil is archaic.

  • Yes, I applaud T. Boone Pickens for what he is doing. I realize that it is likely only motivated by his realization that he can make a great amount of profit in convincing the nation to switch to wind and natural gas. But at least it is a step in the right direction. I would rather not make the baby step of switching from gasoline to gas though, since that too will become a problem eventually. We need to be switching over to renewables instead. It would be easier to do it in a single step..

  • And then you have an oil company owner named Boone Pickens (pickensplan:com) who WANTS to harness the power of natural gas because he realizes domestic oil production is in decline and doesn't want to see any more wealth transfered overseas on foreign oil.

  • agreed.

  • If you fly over North Dakota at night, you can witness the Oil Companies burning off the natural gas eminating from their wells in every direction as far as the eye can see. It is cheaper to burn it than to try to recover it and if it was ever brought online, the natural gas prices would plummet. It is not in the Oil companies' best interest to flood the market with cheap natural gas. They are out to maximize profits, not to lower our costs...
