Jasper Stam playing the carillon of Oudewater, The Netherlands. The composition is 'a Tribute to Copland' (1995) by John Courter. This carillon consists of 51 bells: F1, G#1, A#1 - chromatically - A#5. 24 bells (F1, B1 and C#4 --- A#5) were cast by John Taylor bellfounders of Loughborough, England, in 1997. The bells in between are post-war products of a Dutch bellfoundry.

  • Absoluut een geheel eigen sound die kleine klokjes, hoeveel komen er uit G.B ?

    De 22 kleinste klokjes (cis4 t/m ais5) zijn van Taylor, evenals twee grotere klokken (f1 en b1), maar die zijn op dit filmpje niet te horen. Deze kleine klokjes hebben inderdaad een heel eigenzinnig karakter. Het karakter is niet opgeofferd ten gunste van decibels...
