  • @missycrissysissy008 Thank you Chrissy for your comment!

  • I thank God that he is Canadian! Makes me so proud to be Canadian... He is my FAVORITE all time singer/songwriter. I was VERY disappointed that they didn't make room for Gordy in either opening or closing 2010 Olympic Ceremonies - shame on them! :P

  • Yes, I love Gordon Lightfoot! His music, his songwriting, and he has the most beautiful tenor voice of all folksingers! There isn`t anything I dislike about him. His first Album "Lightfoot", to me, is one of the great classics!

  • god...wow. what a beautiful love song.

i've heard a live recording too which just as the guitar and wow...

  • Yes, Gordon Lightfoot is so talented, beautiful voice and great songwriting! My favorite folk singer! Take care!

  • @iluvhockeycardz1316 thank god that he is a human being! Makes me so proud to be human!

  • Thanks Scout4Me1...I have never heard THIS version of Softly. I was lucky enough to attend a couple of his concerts, but being from New Orleans, they were embarassingly attended. Nonetheless, Mr. Lightfoot was the consumate professional.

    Thanks,

    Al

  • I truly love this song, my all-time favorite! I first heard him on the radio in 1971 and instantly I was intrigued with his voice and lyrics. So unspoiled, not like today's musical heros, all studio and no real talent, come and gone with our money. This guy has always been and will forever be a winner!

  • this is a ver romantic song.

  • WOW! the original recording.
