The Urantia Book, published in 1955, indicates why the Shroud image would be vertically distorted. (See: www.ubthenews.com/topics/ShroudTurin.htm) The image on the Shroud of Turin shows a vertical distortion similar to what occurs with nuclear medicine imaging. Roger Basset has worked for decades with STURP researchers on attempting to get a cleaner image from the Shroud, especially of Jesus' face. This film presents his efforts to give us a more accurate representation of the face on the Shroud than has ever been seen before. This film is a UBtheNEWS production. Music by Michael DiMattia.

  • To me it looks like the eyes are closed and that the eyelashes create the illusion of "the whites of the eyes" by creating a contrast between the curved darker eyelashes below and the lighter eye lids above them. The processing of such a fuzzy image without color makes it harder to identify exactly what is what.

  • The face on the Turin Shroud clearly reveals to me that the eyes are actually open and not closed. A large photographic reproduction of the Shroud Face bears this out. No-one will ever convince me otherwise. I can even see the pupils and whites of his eyes. And, I tend also towards the Turin Shroud being the authentic face of Jesus of Nazareth.-, for what that's worth to anyone in the Universe.
