Less than 24 hours after Montreal's Maxim Lapierre received a four-game suspension for his hit-from-behind on San Jose's Scott Nichol on Thursday night, Bruins winger Michael Ryder was tossed from the B's-Islanders matchup because of a similar incident.

While Lapierre's dirty play looked intentional, Ryder's hit on Blake Comeau appeared to be accidental.

  • Lol yea Ryder's not the type of person to do that. He just read Comeau wrong. Anyone who has ever backchecked in their life, by looking at how Ryder is moving, can see it was not intentional.

He meant to hit Comeau, but I don't think he thought Comeau would try to turn back around. And so he exposed his back and it was too late.

Unfortunate for both players but stop arguing. Good to see Comeau get up.

PS, no bias, i'm a habs fan. this is just my take on it.

  • Comeau's fault, plain and simple.

I don't udnerstand why players constantly do that, turn there backs last minute.

  • Not his fault skated to fast did not have time to stop

  • What a dirty piece of shit.

  • g3heavy,

In response to your comment under the video, you don't know what Lapierre's intentions were, so let's not make stuff up. I have no reason to believe that he wanted to hurt someone. Moreover, as this video clearly indicates, he was not the first nor the last to get a boarding call.

Lapierre's job was to lead the team in hits among other things. Of course he might go too far sometimes, but I don't think you are being fair at all. The Bruins (and all other teams) have their share of BS.

  • @Inflicter because they figure they'll draw a penalty and maybe they won't get hurt.

  • ya if you think he did it on purpose your retarded, ryder is the furthest thing from a dirty player. hes never even fought in the nhl. sorry that blake prolly had a stroke right before ryder hit him and im positive ryder didnt mean to hurt him. if you think that was a dirty hit then your pretty much saying matt cookes hit was clean on savard

  • aww comeau no coma

  • you're no canadian if you think thata
