On Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, the students of LC-8 presented six "digital story" videos documenting their semester's experience working and learning in two of the helping agencies that are part of the Port Richmond Partnership: Make the Road New York, and El Centro del Inmigrante.
This is one of those digital stories. Entitled "Digital Story-Telling Project," it was produced by students Laurie Fogelstrom, Anthony Canella, Brianna Cancel and Tim Bristol.
LC-8 is one of the 21 interdisciplinary learning communities in which all Wagner College freshmen are enrolled during the first semester of their college career. Each first-year LC consists of three linked courses taught by two professors. LC-8, known more formally as "A Journey to Different Worlds," is taught by Spanish professor Margarita Sanchez and philosophy professor Sarah Donovan. The courses that comprise LC-8 are an intermediate Spanish course, a philosophy course on "Contemporary Moral Problems," and a "reflective tutorial" or RFT that uses composition assignments to help students process what they have learned in the other two courses as well as the experiential learning component of the learning community's curriculum.
