I'm going to live there in the next couple of months yipee!! I think the bike aspect is the thing I like most about Amsterdam. It's so different from the UK. Here you just have crazy women in massive 4x4's trying to ram you off the road.

well as far as I know the inner city is very expensive to rent, but 20-30 train minutes outside you find nice villages with lakes and so on... Definitly its gonna be cheaper outside, just check it out yourself.
