Frank Mitchell Smith, Jr. is the Founder and Senior Pastor of Christs Church for Our Community since January 30, 2000. Pastor Smith, born April 28, 1969 in the Panama Canal Zone to the union of Frank Mitchell Smith, Sr. and Flora Mae Smith, later received a Christian Education throughout his early life. Pastor was baptized in 1982 by the late Pastor J. Frank McGill at the Midwest Church of Christ, Louisville, KY and heeded his call into the Gospel Ministry and began preaching the gospel of Christ at the early age of 13. His first sermon was delivered at the West Broadway Church of Christ, Louisville, KY at the invitation of Minister Johnnie McMillan. His first sermon title was "Love". His beloved mother gave him spiritual and prayerful guidance as he prepared his first sermon. After several years of diligent service to the Lord in many capacities, he was later ordained by the late Pastor William Baker, August 20, 1989. Pastor has traveled into over 25 states conducting Revivals, Youth Rallies, Youth Conference Keynotes, Church Conference Keynote Addresses, Fellowship Meetings, Lectureships, Seminars and Workshops. He has been called upon to consult with Pastors and Churches in crisis. Pastor has conducted Radio ministry in Louisville for about 20 years and can now be heard every Thursday from 12:30 p.m. 1:15 p.m. on 1240 WLLV. He is a graduate of the Freed-Hardeman University, Henderson, Tennessee. Pastor Smith served formerly as the Senior Pastor of the Newburg Church of Christ in Louisville, Kentucky for 7 years (1993 2000) after having served there as the Youth Minister and later full-time Associate Minister under the leadership of the late Pastor William Baker. During his 7-year pastorate, the Newburg church grew to nearly 450 members, conducting 3 services on Sundays, ultimately debt-free with future development funds raised in excess of $80,000. He has continued to be passionately concerned for the needs of others and has busied himself in establishing a Christ-centered congregation with the mission of Reaching Up Reaching In and Reaching Out. The congregation began with 30 charter members
