@kberry504 I think God is saying when he tells us not to make statues and such is not to put any god or anything before Him. Dressing up as angels or Jesus isnt problem cause we're sending His message out to others by acting like them. Drama's simply another form of ministry. As somewhat of an actor myself I dont see acting as a form of lying. I see it as a form of performing (like performing with a musical instrument). As long as you dont deviate from the word of God when acting, youll be fine.

Also, i have a question: my mother brought this point up to me. If God doesn't want us making statues of other gods or biblical characters, does that mean we shouldn't dress up like angels or Jesus? And is acting a form of lying?

I agree with many comments on this page. This is nothing but fearmongering. Anyone who had a hand in this production should be ashamed of themselves. I actually saw a production of Heavens Gates Hells Flames in my home town of Modesto, CA, when I was much younger. Parents were ENCOURAGED to bring their CHILDREN! Using scare tactics for proselytization is always disgusting, but when its used on children, that is child abuse. Plain and simple child abuse.
