...remarkable film achievemeent - superb music set to stunning dance!
-
this is pure magic.....!!!!!
-
@shadowmadow and it looks like it, too. Fosse's sophisticated, jazzy choreography is incredibly out of place in the film.

@youyong28 Miss Haney did pass away in 1964, during the run of 'Funny Girl', which she choreographed. I remember hearing the news, and I was saddened--Miss Haney was an outstanding dancer. (Her celebrated understudy was exquisite, too).

Why is the volume so low? I can barely hear this clip with the volume all the way up. Most other clips blast you out!
-
I love how when she comes back on screen, the skirt of her dress is now several inches shorter, going from ankle height to the more fashionable and danceable calf height. Just a silly little detail that sticks out to me.
-
Bobby Van's best performance ever! Nice glutes too.
-
When I was a little girl, I got to meet Bobby Van outside the theatre before a performance of "No, No Nanette." He was so gracious & friendly. Watching this is a nice reminder of what a talented man he was. Fosse et al aren't "chopped liver," either!

@~1:51; coolest stage entry ever...
-
@youyong28 None of them will ever be forgotten thanks to this sequence - it has to be my favourite dance number of all time in a film. Thank you for the info.

Fosse's segment has got to be one of the coolest things ever put on film.

Actualy, even though Hermes Pan choreographed Kiss me Kate, Theportion of
from this Moment on" with Bob Fosse and darol Hhaney was Fosse'sown choreography. That 66 seconds of dance was the first time he did the choreography on a film.
