Happy Armed Forces Day. My dad was in the navy so this is my rendition of this good ole navy song. Dad served in WWII and was stationed in Guam. My father passed away when I was a small kid, I never really got to know him so this is in honor and memory of him.

  • I'm reaching out to any kind Naval Officer, member of the Naval Band, or knowledgeable musician: My grandfather attended the U.S. Navy School of Music in 1942, focus was alto saxophone. We know he played for Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands and FDR at the White House on Aug. 5, 1942. Played in England/Belgium in Navy until 1947. Very sadly died at 33 and it would mean the world to my grandmum and me to have any sort of recording where he may have been recorded. Thank you.

  • @shaolinwarrior87, of course we didn't get the gay stereotype until the Village People! Go figure, lol. I know one of my pal's from back home asked if I could sing and tap dance.

  • @zipper179 thanks :)

  • @csps123 If you have cable tv, turn to Turner Classics, or, TCM, and, in time, that's where they show them, and, without commercials, too..

  • Like your father, I, too, served in the US Navy..And, to think, some of my favorite actors were in the Navy..: Kirk Douglas Harry Belafonte Rod Steiger Robert Taylor Douglas Fairbanks, Jr Ernest Borgnine Tony Curtis Paul Newman Jackie Cooper Yep! We were well, represented..!
