hi! I'm jazz music and it's clear that you've never heard of me. I entail lots of improvisation and off timed song structure. I also enjoy breaking the 2/4 and 4/4 rhythms that punk rock and classic rock drummers have stuck in their heads at all times. On a related note, you can't play me! In fact, you can't even imagine me and my vast complexities. You might try researching me on one of those internets I've heard so much about.

took me half the video watching for the joke before i got it ;-)

I take that back, lolol.
Th drummers an ass for taking over th show, hehehehe.

I actually think the drummers bored from the laim bass players so he let loose a bit.
If their was a guitar and keybored involved, probly would have been better.
Whats the gig about two bass players jamming anyway. Two guitars i can understand - one lead, one rhythm, but two basses ?
I realise their just stuffing aroung in a music store an all that, but hey, without the excellent drumming, i would have fallen asleep.
Only my opinion though.

How is that a joke? As a drummer he seems to play a little "a head of the beat" (and seemlingly aggressive) but, he never lost the established time. If anythinng the bass player sounds like he was at a loss for ideas.

Very good! You are a better drummer than 97.6% of the "drummers" that post shit on youtube...especially the guys that think they can play YYZ.
-
@billycanty lol. i thought at first that you were being selfish and just soloing for no reason while ur band mates struggled to find something they could actually play along too. and i was thinkin "thats kinda harsh!" but a fair bit through the video i realized u were doing a wicked drum solo

@S4mu3L01 Its a controlled setting. Its not like he could just let loose. There are a lot of factors to way in with these kind of jams, you should consider them before being so critical of other players.
this drummer plays to frantically and wild, almost as if he isn't feeling the music and rather waiting on luck to generate a beat. might i recommend analyzing one of your beats and using it as a 'base rhythm' to slowly progress your chops in action.

@DrumChopWorkshop Ummmmm, yeah... I'm playing an adlibed drum solo while the bassist comps behind me through the A and B section of the song.. Not a groove. This is 1:56 footage of the end of a 5 minute song. Thanks for your input though, but I don't like to play rehearsed note for note solos.
Peace

I know. I taught at Brents for 2 years before I moved to South Bend, Indiana recently. I still purchase all of my gear from Brents. Jeff in drums is the shit. He has personally delivered kits to homes, set them up and given a free lesson to the buyer!
