"That's Right" - Ritchie Mars ( by Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash )

My take on a seldom-heard hot rockabilly tune recorded by Carl Perkins in September of 1957, written by himself and Johnny Cash.

I haven't done any recording in awhile and I've been in the process of moving, but now that I've gotten settled in, I took the time to take advantage of my new, quiet "recording studio" ( a.k.a the living room ) and lay down a few tracks. This is a song that I first heard when I bought the Sun 45 off Ebay. It came along with "Matchbox" and "Your True Love" which I had been looking for in particular, but when I got to listen to the other record of "That's Right" backed with "Forever Your's" I discovered two new favorites.

All of the instrumentation in my recordings are provided by a single guitar; my Epiphone EJ200. I use a program called MixCraft which allows me to adjust the sound of the guitar to sound like anything from a twangy acoustic, a down-and-dirty distorted electric, or even a bass. Being a cover version, this isn't an exact copy of the original, though I did include some of Carl's distinctive rockabilly flavor, most notably his unusual guitar intro.
