The new addition to the kit is this brand new Paiste 2002 24" Ride cymbal. I wasn't sure if I should get it at first but I listened to the sound clips Paiste has up on their website and I honestly have to say I liked the sound of this size and weight in the 2002 line up best. Very nice pitch, has a smooth open ping but not lost when "flurried". Also has a bonus of being an explosive crash. What a monster! Hope you like it as much as I do! There is also another change to the kit in this video, I put back the original 12x14" rack tom. I think I'm liking that a lot too :)

  • Hi Dan,

and i tought of you and bonham in the shop and i bought the 24" dude what a great cymbal thanks for giving me advise ! i love it! one's you go 24" you'll never go back ! ;)

  • @ruben79670

    very cool....congrats!

  • Watching you has inspired me. I bought an 18" tom, got rid of the small drums in my Pearl set, arranged in 1 up 2 down, got a set of 2002 15" hats, a 18" medium crash, and a 24" ride. I got the symbols for $800 total, brand new. Audio-candy! I only just started playing recently, so I still suck, but at least now my cymbals sound good! One question, your ride sounds more "high" (less bell-ish) and bright than the clips on the Paiste site and my cymbal in real life. How do you accomplish that?

  • @publicssoss

Great price! About the sound of the ride, it's probably due to the recording. I usually leave the overhead mics flat (no eq) so perhaps what you are hearing at Paiste is them adding a little eq (high end) to the recording and the sound you are hearing in person depends on the reflections of your room. A smaller and/or reflective room will make cymbals sound brighter. Anyway you look at it, for a beginner you're off to a great start with this cymbal setup!! Thanks for your message:)

  • i think you must be the coolest drummer ive ever heard. amazing . wolfacer UK.
