Ryan Richter LaSalle / Southampton, PA scores at the end of the half, 44th minute, to tie the game. In the first game of the year for the Ocean City Barons PDL Team, weather played more of a factor in the outcome of the season opener at Carey Stadium 6th Street in Ocean City New Jersey. Ten minutes into the second half referees had to suspend play due to a severe lightning storm followed by 40 minutes of classic Nor Easter torrential rain. By the time the rains let up Carey Stadium was ruled unsafe to continue play and the game was called a 1-1 tie. The Point earned by the Barons for the USA Open Cup qualification would payoff later in the month as the Barons would qualify over the Long Island Rough Riders 10 point to nine.
