Gojushiho Kata Step Bunkai (Application)

Exploring the bunkai (analysis) and Oyo Bunkai (application) of a portion of the Gojushiho kata as it is taught in Okinawa Kenpo karate.

This kata traces its roots back to Sokon "Bushi" Matsumura and as such has significant Chinese roots and influence.

The piece discussed in this video is a kosa dachi step over wherein the practitioner secures the opponent and proceeds to throw him. The bunkai shown is not the only possible application, but does work in the realm of combat and realistic interpretation.
