PvP in Star Wars: The Old Republic is broken down in two categories: Open World PvP and Warzones.
The planet Illum is the only known open-world PvP area but I have not been there yet. That aside, we have three warzones: Alderaan, Voidstar and Huttball.
You can start doing warzones when you reach level 10 by clicking the icon at the bottom right of your mini map.
When you complete warzones you are rewarded with xp, credits, valor and commendations. Firstly, it is entirely possible to level just by doing PvP. The amount of experience you get scales with your level and it is roughly 10%. Hence, about 10 games for a level. Secondly, the amount of credits you get is pretty decent. I mostly PvPed to level 25 with a bit of questing and I had about 100k. Thirdly, valor will grant you titles. Also, the highest valor rank person in the warzone is usually the leader. Keep in mind that your valor rank can not be higher than your level and Valor rank is used as matchmaking purposes. Fourtly, warzone commendations can be used to purchase PvP gear or other goodies. You get the mercenary commendations from World PvP or through exchange.
In warzones, there are three different kinds of buff. A red icon buff will give you a 15% expertise increase, the other two green icon buffs will give you a speed buff and a heal.
Make sure to do the daily PvP dailies and weekly quests; good experience, commendations and gears.
PvP vendor as well as the PvP quests can be found at the combat training area at the Republic Fleet (Not sure where for Sith Empire).
Three sets of high level PvP gears: centurion, champion and battlemaster. There is a decent PvP set at level 20 and weapons at 26. For high level gears, Champion bags are bought with commendations, give a chance for Champion gears and give Centurion tokens. Battlemaster bags are given through the PvP quests, give Champion tokens and a chance for Battlemaster gears.
Gears will not matter until you reach level 50. All stats and damage are normalized for balance. So a level 10 could kill a level 50 but he just won't have all the arsenal of skills and talents the level 50 has.
Expertise is the PVP based stat. It gives a damage boost, damage reduction, and healing boost. All in one stat.
All classes gain Resolve bars while in PvP. The bar is around your character portrait. It shows arepresentation of diminishing returns and the character's susceptibility to crowd control.
You gain Badges for absorbing damage, dealing damage, healing, etc. The more badges you earn by filling a role the more warzone commendations you get to spend.
At the end of a warzone game, you can vote someone for MvP. These commendations increase the rewards acquired by that player. Best tank, DPS or healer. Just please vote.
Thanks for watching. More videos for each of the warzones are coming. Please like and subscribe. Peace.
are you playing as a bounty hunter?

@MrKobe12345678910 A trooper but the bounty hunter is pretty much the same.

You can use your taunt (Neural Jolt) to reduce the damage enemy players do to your teammates. It doesn't even cost any ammo. It's more useful for PvP tanking even than Guard is, in most situations.
