This is another of one of my valve receiver projects that I have designed for safe low voltage operation and can give usable loudspeaker reception on strong signals with only 10 volts HT on the medium wave and lower shortwave bands. Best performance on all bands starts when the HT Voltage is cranked up to 15 Volts and even better at 25 Volts as you can see in the video. The receiver description and valve line up is as follows. 1 half ECC88 triode forms an electron coupled regenerative detector which is the first stage. The other half triode section of the ECC88 is a simple audio driver stage. An ECC86 is used for the third and final stage as follows. 1 half triode section of the ECC86 forms another simple audio driver stage to drive the final stage which is the power amplifier stage and can drive a speaker at usable volume. Please note that the power output is only a few miliwatts output as can be expected at these low voltages and only suitable for use in a quite environment. This receiver also shares the same chassis as my new VHF Regenerative receiver project that is almost the same circuitry despite a few modifications. This is now also a project on my following webpage http://philsvalveradiosite.co.uk/philsvalveradiosite/progressivecrystalsettor...
