If you haven't seen STAR TREK "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield," you should. In that ST episode, Frank Gorshin is the extreme opposite of his Riddler. He plays an agent of the law from his planet hunting down an escaped prisoner. He's very calm and serious. He's also really morally ambiguous. His character is no saint. But in all fairness, he's not a tyrant either. At times, he's manipulative. But he really does believe in what he's doing and feels his cause is just. .

Well don't get me wrong. I understand that Frank Gorshin came first, and a lot of people were used to him. Because I like John Astin better doesn't mean I expect everyone else to.
Astin's "Batman's Anniversary" is certainly my favorite Riddler episode. But I won't deny that I enjoyed Gorshin's "Death In Slow Motion." (I feel that was Gorshin's best episode.) We knew he was up to something, but not what. And when we found out, we may have told ourselves that the clues were there.

We're probably better off accepting that you like Frank Gorshin, and I like John Astin.

Egad! That's such an AWFUL Riddler! No offence to Astin, but compared to Gorshin he is just awful. I mean, he doesn't give you the psycho thrill, or the goofy laugh that Gorshin did.

why would a manhole lead to a bank vault? Why would none of them swim underwater? why were batman and robin be bone dry leaving the bank vault and why did they need no air tanks? lot of plot holes here
