IRON MONKEY started in 1995 and split up in September 1999, they made three recordings "S/T", "Our Problem" and "We've Learned Nothing" plus "Ruined By Idiots", a collection of rare/live songs was released in 2002. During the life of the band Jim & Justin also played in HARD TO SWALLOW, after the split the band members went on to play in such bands as ARMOUR OF GOD, DUKES OF NOTHING, MURDER ONE, CAPRICORNS, ELECTRIC WIZARD, HELVIS, TEETH OF LIONS RULE THE DIVINE, BLACK EYE RIOT, PHANTOM LIMB MANAGEMENT and more. IRON MONKEY were just part of the problem. Although they were only together for 4 years, they managed to cause one really big mess and gave the UK underground scene a royal kick up the arse. They gained little respect and were ripped off and ignored for most of their time together, like most "cult" bands, they achieved their status as one of the all time great British heavy bands only after they split up leaving only a handfull of hardcore fans who had experienced the chaos. Sadly vocalist John Paul Morrow passed away in 2002 from heart failure, the likes of JPM will never be seen again, R.I.P. ....The same could be said for this great band, IRON MONKEY were a bunch of bastards, wrecking their way through the UK music scene and laughing at how shit it all is.

Every time I hear some shitty song from some shitty artist like Bieber, R.Black, Rihanna, Gaga I find a real good heavy metal/rock song and listen to it till I forget the previous one. Today this song is Bad Year by Iron Monkey and I freaking love it.
