This is a very interesting clip.
But can you tell me the name (scientific name or at least the genus)
of this extraordinary "hoverfly".
From the distance I somehow doubt, that this is really a member of the family
"Syrphidae". It seems to be a "hovering fly", thats true, but all the member of Syrphidae, does have a total different mouthpiece - and a lot of families of Insects
or classified also by the way their mouthparts are arranged.

this is outrageous. i can't believe a flower and an insect were created like this for each other!
By the way Bwakkie, this is in fact a hover fly. Bee flies are very, very small and they look like bees.
@ Joyananda: such things happen quite often in nature. It is called co-evolution and takes a long time to develop.
