N. Korea TV seen in S.Korea April 2005. This was taken using a PAL system TV which could pick up N. Korean TV in the South, which otherwise is not viewable on NTSC TV system there. Late night before sign off.

  • one must go near the DMZ. This means anywhere from various islands out off of Kanghwa Island on the west, all the way up to near the Kumgangsan Observatory area on the. One cannot probably get this signal in Seoul.

  • how to get KCTV online?

  • it used to be carried daily on a japanese website called "elufa", but now it has been scrapped, at least since October. However, there are other North Korean videos there.

  • KCTV on online, not any more to my knowledge. there was a Japanese website called elufa, which had it daily streamed. they stopped that some time October 2007, but they do have some other DPRK videos and TV clips.

  • Is it illegal to receive North Korean broadcast in South Korea? I heard it from someone that you can actually get thrown in prison for a long time for watching crap like that in the South.

  • not anymore, what with the "Sunshine Policy". South Korean TV is itself filled with broadcasts from North Korea.

  • @superesonator kcna.kp

  • @newschannel It is but it's not like we support the North.

  • Ah, the Sun sets on another day of hunger, poverty, and desperation in the DPRK XD!

  • At the end of the day a simple life is still much better.

  • @Luc1f3rk0 1.20 cm antenna is ideal for this channel..

  • ThankfulGuy, It is strange that the DPRK uses a Japanese domain registration for KCNA (kcna.co.jp) considering the terrible relations between the two countries and the ease with which they could use a Chinese or Russian domain. I have read that this is because the kcna.co.jp is a forgery designed to make the DPRK look bad with poor quality translations and bombastic language, while actual news from the DPRK is filtered in most Western countries. Have you heard of this theory? Is it possible?

  • scary!

  • @ThankfulGuy Thanks !
