  • Very good job.

    Thank you.

Your video it has very nice Presentation, a consistent Structure and for sure very useful Data.

    ;)

I am very frustrated because of this sloppy HTML . I want to build "data extractor" from a website (HTML parser), and i am using Python as a programming language to do this, but the web designer of that site it make my life unbelievable difficult.

  • If I were going to try to parse bad HTML (in a Windows environment), I might consider using COM automation to load the document in IE and then "walk the tree" of objects that IE's parser builds. I'm unfamiliar with Python, so I can't suggest how this would translate into your toolset. Good luck!

  • where does xhtml fit in to all this?

  • My understanding is that XHTML is HTML that is well-formed, permitting parsers to do validation better. This apparently permits more devices over the web (think cell phone) to render web pages in a more consistent, more attractive manner than ordinary HTML permits. I have no personal experience with this, however. Thanks for commenting!

  • Thanks Joe, enjoyed your tut but especially your enthusiasm. Please be encouraged to continue, I'll continue to view. I joined YT just to make this comment.

  • Thank you very much. I hope to post something new along things lines shortly.
