  • Agreed, this was rushed, he stated "you don't want both pads sitting on the thumb (note camera angle was way off). How exactly would you put both of your thumb pads on one thumb? I assume he meant club but ??? also he said if you feel like the fingers are pushing against it??? what It ??? the hand/the club?

  • Thanks great tips!

  • @HKgolfer132 Tom Watson in his book The Timeless Swing advocates a Vardon grip using mostly fingers. Exactly what Breed advocates. So, I'll go with Watson over Hogan here.

  • "Hold it in the fingers," doesn't that totally contradict what Ben Hogan said. Which is correct

  • Best teacher out there - this has helped me take my game to another level

    More control and better feel

  • And if you do put the club more in the hand, you'll be a better golfer. Moe norman = best striker ever. Check the natural golf grip. This is the best grip for all swingtypes.

  • Maybe if the guy didn't sound like he was trying to sell something and actually slowed down to TEACH the proper grip, this may be helpful. Grip is important, and it can't be taught speaking 100mph.

  • Whoa this proves there's more than one way to swing a club. Hank Haney teaches the exact opposite; to hold the club on that diagonal plane across your hands. He always tells the story of how Tiger did hold it all in his fingers like Michael teaches, and Hank always thought that if Tiger switched it to what I'll call the "diagonal method" that Tiger would hit it better. Tiger switched it, and hit an amazing shot and never changed his grip since. Just proves there's more than one way to do things!
