@vashcat is Baguazhang your dumbass, the form is perfomed walking a circle and all internal martial arts are performed in moderate pace for inner strengt training
-
The background music is so elegant. Does anyone know the title of the song being played?
-
Not impressed. Looks good to an untrained eye. Where the heck is this guys circle? Why does he keep walking out of it? No Ll Na Cha =Fail.
-
Simply elegant and very meditative. A beautiful flow and serene location--any idea where this was filmed ? All the best.
-
That is cool. :D

the more you try to imitate and "play around" as you call it, the more you will figure out on your own, why and how they move like they do. Playing around is the best way to teach yourself. Move in ways that you find silly and you change your entire way of thinking. Be spontaneous and creative. Look stupid and exaggerate everything!

This was great, i would like to learn a technique like this but there are no teachers in my area, so mostly i just play around
-
just say your learning Qigong, and pass it off as a meditation yoga thing
which most people thing
but it kills.....its funny
-
look for a good teacher
find the true internal art.

that was very beautiful, and I agree I feel the same wasy about my bullwhip. which in my opinion is the best, if you have the room of course
this routine could be done with souble eneded spear as well and nothing will change, you would perform in exactly the same way. idea about souble headed snake means you use both ends to attack, doesn't matter if one is the blunt end. you can hit or stab depends on what you have

to answer your question I will quote Jarek (www.chinafrominside.com): "spear in Bagua is called "(Double headed) Snake"; the other reason is that in applications it is based on the idea of a snake reacting to an attack - when you attack its head, the snake strikes with its tail; when you attack its tail, the head reacts; when you attack its body, both the head and tail react. Another feature of Bagua (double headed) spear is that it applies the idea of using long weapon on a short distance"
