I can not wait to visit this great historical places of Libya.

@RobBirding actually it was very difficult for certain nationalities to get visas for Libya, namely Americans. Tourism figures in Libya was next to nothing. It was a good job we could solely rely on oil revenue but of course we didn't enjoy that either as it was only circulating largely between gaddafi and his loyalists.

Yeah, Libya was in the rule of Qaddafi so isolated, that nearly noone was allowed to get visas and view the vast ancient sites in libya. There's Cyrene, there's Leptis Magna, there's Ghadamis, there's the entire southern Sahara with some beautiful ancient sites, some even with signs of humans of the stone age, but nearly noone is allowed to come.

Qaddafi's isolating rule has culturally bancrupted libya, and it's on libyans to build it up again.

@RobBirding Correct, same goes for Roman ruins in Sabratha and Al Khums.

The report is wrong. Cyrene has always been open to tourists. I taught English in Benghazi until the war broke out. I visited it twice. It was always busy. There were plenty of foreign tourists there. I am anit-Gadaffi but this was NOT one of his failings.

Excellent. Watch Libya reveal it's jaw dropping jewels once Gadaffi leaves.
Fuck all leftwing commies and rightwing fascists who support Qadafi.
