  • @chiwowowo Right now I'm sort of looking for a Mustang ll oil pan for a 2.8 V6 ,Iv'e got a stroked 2.8 with lots of goodies ,crower rods ,JE pistons crane cam rated @ 6500, Manley racemaster valves ,SVO oil cooler 4bbl intake with a Holley 08057-2 with BLP machined down leg boosters .. Iv'e got a 80 runabout thats looking like it needs this engine since the ranger 4x4 got hit from the rear and ruined the frame, I'd like another ranger but the Pinto is temping me at this time......

  • @kamphwagon1 - Yeah, I did my swap in 1981 (on my 1978 Runabout), using Mustang II coil springs from Moog (cheaper than "factory"/"dealership" parts), but did use Ford engine mounts and trans mount.. The Hooker "kit" was headers and instructions, with really bad "drawings"!

  • @chiwowowo Actualy all the parts needed for the Pinto 302 V8 swap were manufactured by Ford ,all the Mustang ll stuff interchanges with Pinto..

  • @normanheather611 if you need help or suggestions or want to talk to other Pinto Nutz about your car I could suggest going to the FordPinto web website/forums and sign up for a free account

  • @cookieboystoys o well im getting a 302 for my pinto project and making a 347 stroker and puting it in it

  • Nice, I thought of doing the same thing a few years ago, this guy did an excellent job! The rear wing on the deck lid and the louvers make it look like a 1970 Mach 1 that was left in the dryer a little too long, a chin spoiler would complete the illusion.

  • When I put a 302 in my then-3-year-old 1978 Pinto back-in-the-day, I installed Moog replacement springs for a 1978 Mustang II Cobra II V8 w/air conditioning.
