This excerpt is taken from a documentary film on the construction of Martin Pasi's Opus 14, It shows the hammering, sizing, calculating and cutting of the metal for an organ pipe. This segment was filmed by Mike Cousino in the Pasi Organ Builders shop in Roy, Washington. Part 3 of 6.

  • It's been used for over 500 years. and Prior to around 250 years ago, all if not most of the metal pipes were 100% lead.

    It doesn't effect you as much as you would think. Only if you "lick" the pipes or something crazy like that.

  • it would take a very heavy and large roll to roll the metal. Hammering the metal is a traditional method for the northern countries I believe. Rolling works and I have tried it but my machine was not heavy enough.

  • why not rolled sheets?
