This man did something so badass its insane and all you people can do is pick at it

I would have died in the balloon

@tylerfh2012 that makes sense! good look!

@m21cerney by your logic all supersonic aircraft should burst into flame before reaching their maximum velocity. meteors and spacecraft burn when they enter the atmosphere because they are going FAR faster. This guy went like 700 mph, the space shuttle went 18,000 mph on re-entry. next time try actually waiting one second and thinking (and doing a few simple google searches), you might learn something!

@Timothy24259 Actually he may have, but unfortunately the video is ambiguous. There is a standard speed of sound at sea level of about 760 mph, but properties of air such as pressure, density, temperature, and humidity affect the local speed of sound at any point. The video should have made it clear whether he actually broke the local speed of sound at that altitude or just was traveling faster than the standard speed of sound.

@Dashiar meteors and spacecraft burn up because they are going extremely fast, tens of thousands of miles per hour, relative to the earth. this guy started out with a speed of essentially zero since he just floated up on a balloon, and only reached 990 km/hr (615 mph) like the narrator said

wouldnt he burn up in the atmosphere if he did it from space?
-
He had to jump, he was reaching part of the atmosphere that goes into the negative 100s or so degree Celsius --- hence needing to jump to really save his life.

this guy has balls of titan
-
IMHO that´s more impressive than the moon landing by Armstrong.

30 kilometers is not space. you need to go at least 100 kilometers for that.
