Bob Sheppard warning fans to refrain from disorderly conduct

Before the start of the Mariners @ Yankees game on September 5, 2007, Bob Sheppard makes an announcement warning fans not to engage in disorderly conduct or unruly behavior. Afterwards, he makes an announcement about the "Tag-A-Kid" program.

This, by the way, was the last time Bob Sheppard made his public address announcements at Yankee Stadium. Jim Hall filled in for Sheppard for the rest of the 2007 season and for virtually all of the 2008 season.

I wish I could answer that question but I have never attended a playoff game at the old Yankee Stadium.

However when I have watched rebroadcasts of Game 6 of the 1977 World Series on ESPN Classic, I could hear him in the background announcing to fans that they should not throw objects onto the field. This was after Reggie Jackson had to run off the field to avoid being pelted by all sorts of debris from fans sitting atop the RF fence in anticipation of the eventual Yankee victory.

Every since I was a kid, I remember getting to Yankee Stadium an hour early for batting practice and listening to Bob Sheppard talk about promotions and read the lineups etc...I get sad just thinking about it. Those were some great times!
