Our home on this planet
often taken for granted
seems rock solid but can it
change too fast to cope?
Our home's been mistreated
our mistakes got repeated

We've gotta learn overnight
Things like turning off the light
We have no choice, our deadline is getting tight
Don't make excuses, don't do nothing, don't get into a fight

Why don't you start learning, start concerning, stop turning away
Curb your spending, stop pretending that it's the only way

Recycling, reusing,
but mostly reducing
If you start refusing
all this stuff, we might win
this struggle were facing
we're best off embracing
so let's stop our chasing
the very junk were stuck in

We've gotta try something new
There's something anyone can do
Start with your mindset, what is it that's been shaping your views?
Is what you feel in line with most of your life's pursuits?

Why don't you start feeling, help healing our planet today
There's so much info, hard to not know we've been going astray

We've gotta do something fast, and try to make stuff last
or we'll be in for a huge crisis as yet unsurpassed
Why can't we learn from the mistakes we've made in our short past?

Why don't we stop competing, stop deceiving and co-operate
We better stop debating and degrading, it's been too much to date
Eco-consciousness has never been as easy as now!
Soon it's cool to be all eco, and then you are...WOW!!

This is a beautifully creative video with an incredibly important message, and you've really done a magnificent job at combining inspiring lyrics with energizing music & very powerful imagery. It breaks my heart that only a couple of hundred people have seen this amazing video that you clearly put an enormous amount of compassion & hard work into. Maybe you can send it out to all of the eco-friendly channels here on YouTube so that they can appreciate it too.

I'm sorry you weren't properly acknowledged for this amazing video. Please know that if the channels that you sent it to are big ones with a lot of subscribers/viewers/friends, etc., that it's truly impossible to keep up with everything that is received. I have hundreds of backlogged videos waiting for me to watch/acknowledge them, sadly. That doesn't mean that they aren't great like yours! Anyway, maybe setting this video as a response to a popular pro-environment one would work out best. :-)

I just noticed that my 2nd attempt at a video response failed - I posted this as a response to, by now, 2 videos w. the original song. Same with another vid of mine.

I've been feeling lately, based on this experience & nasty comments I delete, that most people really don't understand the work & creativity that goes into writing good lyrics. And, despite my usual modesty, I do consider my lyrics really good.

But maybe I'm just totally biased.
