Tree Of Tranquility - Child Birthday Ostrich Glitch

Scenario:
My child's birthday is, oh so conveniently, the 28th of Spring. Yes, he is the Animal Festival baby. So anyway, being the good mother I am, I spent most of the day over at Brownie Ranch, riding around the place on my trusty ostrich Oscar. Now, I wasn't quite sure on the whole birthday-scene yet, unsure at what time I should get home for some strange event I knew was to come. So my good old Elsie the cow wins me another 120 pieces of lumber, and I'm riding Oscar home around 5 or so to get to the big shebang. I got to about just past the seed-farm place I never go to anymore thanks to Taylor, when the screen flashes and Oscar's gone. Little yellow question mark and a bar pops up saying something like "I have a feeling today's a special day"

So, I poof home because, lo-and-behold, it's 6 PM. So that was the magic number. Anyway, the event goes through with the vague little birthday scene. When it's over, the character I suppose is supposed to pop up next to the bed, raring to go. Well, somehow, this happened.

There I am, riding Oscar just like I was at 6 PM outside. In my room. Aaaaand I'm stuck. No, none of the buttons worked. Couldn't get off that silly ostrich. Juuuuust ran in circles. So, I'm forced to play that entire day ALL over again. What fun. And this time, I'll walk everywhere.
