Are Older Transguys Envious of the Younger Guys?

Yes I think about the same thing quite often. I'm 30 and recently started T and I often wish I would have transitioned when I was younger and like you said "had the balls" to do it then. I wouldnt have had all these years of anger pent up inside because of people treating me like a girl and not seeing me for me.

Here's what I say: You had way way more time to really think and reflect on your decision. This means you have a clearer head and perhaps fewer regrets. I am a 34 year old FTM. Catch is, I live as a male but I have never taken T. I wanted to make certain certain that this is the life for me. I think everyone has their journey and their time.  The fact that we live in a time where there is so much community available for us. Time is irrelevant. Your journey is infinite. Good luck

Did you say you're *almost 30*? I'm not certain that classfies as "older." :)

Like anything trans-related, It's a really individual thing. I wish I could have experienced a male youth, but at the same time I was not ready then for transition. I certainly couldn't have afforded top surgery, and how hellish would it have been to know about it but not be able to do it? I transitioned at exactly the right time for me.

i transitioned at thirteen, and my life has still not been that easy. i think people are often less understanding at young ages- a lot of my peers were confused.

@iliveinacubicle i dont think that entierely true. I never had a female past, really. I mean ive always id as a man even when i didnt know how to transition. what is great is, its so much easier to transition now than it was 11 years ago. in a way, im happy that i waited.

im an older transguy and i wish i wudve started earlier myself but im not jealous. On the contrary. i try to help the younger onces as much as possible cuz i dont want them to wait a long time like i did. Maybe there are more that are jealous, idk.

i dont mean this at all as an insult! so plz dont take it as one. i have noticed that alot of older guys who trasition later in life have a harder time letting go to their female past

I've wondered this too. It's weird because I was totally chill with being "a girl" most of the time in childhood and teenage years.. I always liked guys too which made it confusing, and just thought being a 'straight woman' would be easier than being a 'gay man'. But at the same time I had issues with being any guy's 'girlfriend'. So It took me a while to figure out, but I don't regret it too much because my time as a girl was mostly ok, and if I'd known before graduating it may had been worse.

The only difference is in the physical results; the earlier you start, the better the results. But you're only 30 and that's as if you were starting at 18 or younger. I have heard it many times over that as long as you're under 35, or anywhere near, you're fine. EVERYTHING else is nothing to be envious about. I also think there are other transitioning factors that we're better off starting them earlier in life. Like saving money, for example. I love your voice by the way. You're handsome.

I started at 18...im 23 now..I really wish i could have started alot younger..I think I would have been alot happier in highschool. I use to think about it all the time..then I realized well..hey man your 23 now..its alreadi said and done..no matter how much you think about what if your still transitioning at the age you are..its kinda like the shoulda coulda woulda thing..but hey im just happy it happend..and it happend smoothly..many people has had a really ruff transition..so Im just grateful
