How to keep Cherry Shrimp or their scientific name is Neocaridina heteropoda or Neocaridina denticulata sinensis. They are from Taiwan and they are 100% awesome. They are super hardy and unlike other fresh water shrimp... they breed like crazy. All you need to do is keep them in a heavily planted tank that you feed well and they will breed. Obviously you don't want any predatory fish in your tank of the cherry shrimp will get eaten. I have kept them with my baby rainbowfish and the rainbows haven't been eating on the adults, but the population of cherry shrimp hasn't grown which would lead me to conclude that, although the adults are fine, the babies are probably being eaten. I bought 40 of these suckers like 3 years ago and now I have them in almost all of my tanks.. I love Cherry shrimp. Every now and then I have some extra to sell, but I'll let you all know when it's time. Thanks for watching! Check out Fishtanktv.com for more about all of these shrimp and other aquarium dwellers.
