  • just compare this with even the old Isle of Wight concert ... this is so over articulated and ... still love the song but miss the old raw and unrestrained energy.

  • I like this cut more old school.

  • thats one of my favorite drum solols

  • Interesting that they go back to the version with no vocals.

It's Ian's song, he can play it however he wants I suppose.

  • Remember when I saw this in Gothenburg. Ian did his little "speech", where he said something like this: "An oldie, where Clive Bunker used to do his drumsolo, and bore the hell out of everyone. To avoid that today, Doane Perry will NOT do a drumsolo". Scattered applause. "Maybe he'll do a VERY small drumsolo, not much, but a little one in the middle." The concert hall exploded in applause. Apsolutely loved it.

  • I too have seen Tull a good many times and was at this concert in Ipswich, great gig enhanced by Anna Phoebe.

Thanks for posting this - great memories!

  • I have 'This Was' on my Ipod and like to play this song real loud. It still blows me away after all this time.

  • Always liked the original with Clive Bunker. It is great that Ian brings out so many of these ancient songs. Dharma for one 2008 terrific

  • Yes Yes! Saw them on Ian's B'Day at Mohegan Sun Casino,,,have seen them too many times to count and there were many songs that I've not seen live.

And it was great to see the ol' claghorn...

  • Fantastic, I saw them yesterday in Milan and when he announced "Dharma for One" I got sick since I saw them for the 4th time but they never performed this superb song!!!

The whole concert was superb! As always ;-)
