How to reformat the hard drive for mac
step 1 : go into finder and click on mac hd
step 2 : go into applications then click on utilities
step 3: scroll down till you see disk utility and click on that
step 4: click where it says 500.11 gb WD 5000Bev...
step 5: click where it says erase
step 6: then where it says format change it to mac os extended and where it says name name it what ever you want
step 7: the down in the right corner click erase and wait you should see the screen you see when you first plug it in

@jacksonskates10 hey sorry for taking so long to reply been gone for a long time, but yes as far as i know it should still work because windows 7 automatically finds the drivers for the hard drive the only thing i am not sure about is once you do that if you will have to reformat it again i will try it in the next few days and post a video thanks for the questions

Hi there - this was super helpful... up to the point where I pressed erased. It looked like it wanted to do it but then came up with an error message: Disk Erase failed. Disc erase failed with the error: File system formatter failed.

Can you help!?! Please....
