@sisyphus650 I remember when there was no internet and we had landline phones too (born 82).

@sisyphus650 hmm, I don't knock those periods or know anyone my age who does. Maybe you should stop listening to the mainstream shit and dig a little deeper. The mainstream isn't what used to be.

@sisyphus650 I bet you have an Ipod and text message daily. I sure as hell don't and hate text messaging (born in 82). Getting Obama in office is nothing to be proud of either. Same old status quo horseshit.

The whole idea of generations is ridiculous. Build your identity around something meaningful!

born in 1975 and definitely a hardcore Gen xer. Ithink we have all the qualities(leadership, goal-orientation and itiative) to dominate. long live worldide fellow generation xers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel lucky to be an older member of gen X. We were the last of the "free range" youth. I was young when the world was still fresh and alive and full of spontaneity and originality. Youth culture now seems anesthetized.

@Lalo3001 Actually, Gen Xers are the LARGEST U.S. generational population. They're born between the years 1961-1981. The total U.S. Gen X population is 93,000,000 people. See New York Times bestselling book titled "Generations" by experts Strauss and Howe (page 318).

H&S project the Millennials at 76,000,000 people in the U.S. (updated to 90m) -- see page 336
Baby Boomers are estimated at 79,000,000 people in the U.S. (see page 300)
The "Silent" generation is at 49,000,000 people in the U.S. (see page 280)
Awesome Book! Kudos to Jeff for speaking up for us, the 46 Million Gen Xers sandwiched in between the obnoxious, neanderthal Baby Booms and their kids, Gen Y or Millenials.
Say what you will about us, i.e we're forgotten, we're invisible, etc, but we've changed the world, especially in technology.
The only difference between us and !*$%$#!! Baby Booms: we don't yell it from a marble pedestal or from roof tops about how "great" we are.
We just quietly trudge along and do our thing. :)

If Gen Xers hired or signed the likes of lady Gaga, it's because there is a market for it. Hence, it's gen Y that drives the market. If Gen Y preferred talented writers, musicians, and singers, then Gen X would sign these individuals.
