The New River is one of the oldest
rivers in the world. At 350 million
years old it is second only to the
Nile. The New River is one of the
few rivers in North America to flow
south to north, and the only river
to cut through the entire width of
the Appalachian Mountains. In July
of 2007, BSA Troop 157 traveled to
Western Virginia to paddle a stretch
on the New River that winds its way
along the VA NC border.
Have you seen it lately? January ---It has icebergs --- can't wait 'til summer!
