  • A wonderful video, although I must point out that they didn't use the upstairs of the house in the actual film.

  • @Mike40135 Many thanks. And yes, you are quite correct; apparently, the upstairs scenes were actually shot at Stockers Farm in Rickmansworth.

  • @aa666 Quite so. I visited Sleddale Hall during late Winter this year to find the place in quite good condition, all things considered. The guy who now owns it, Tim, was there, and he let us look inside. He's renovating the place and told us that, as a fan, he's doing it up in the style of the film, and will rent it out to customers as a holiday home.

  • @Mike40135 That's very interesting. It's good to hear that such a wonderful place is being brought back from the brink. Thanks for letting us know.

  • Great video, well done gents.

  • Thanks for the encouragement

  • I understand that It was bought by an architect from Canterbury who, being a fan of the film, wants to restore it.

  • Those are the kind of windows faces look in at.

  • @aa666 I shall be going there! It may be costly, however. I mean, free to those that have it, very expensive to those that can't.

  • Amazing tribute.. this film had such an impact on my life as Im sure it did with others..

quite to sad to see the house, which was almost a character itself in such a state, but nice to see that it has been held in such regards.. a living testiment to the power of admiration... long may it stand, or be restored..

  • was in fact bought by tim ellis, a restoration architect from canterbury my home town. i think he paid something in the region of 140k for it as a pub owner in the village failed to stump up the cash i believe and it went to the second bidder. i was there last weekend and its boarded up and padlocked now as tim is there every three weeks renovating. we missed him as he didnt make it that weekend, i was told by the farmer down the road. i was sad i couldnt go inside but thems the breaks

  • Brilliant tribute, thanks for posting.

  • Hearing the opening chords of A Whiter Shade of Pale made me inexplicably happy :)

  • i went there, amazing, balls to monty! they are not allowed to renovate itr unfortunately
