Brilliant demo, but I didn't care for slow motion parts. I mean, does it have to go slomo each and every time he cuts something??
-
Look at the expression of his face: it is the same during the whole practice. It is pure concentration, and he is REALLY good

ammazza che palle sto vecchio..

Thanks for posting this Sir. I could not look away. Solid and sustained zanshin from opening to close!

Would they all stop talking and clapping whenever he cuts something?! They all seem to think he's just a common entertainer and the cuts are his greatest 'trick' while ignoring his demonstration of form and seemingly bottomless courtesy when he bows to them knowing full well he won't receive a single nod in response.
I could never do demonstrations, I didn't have the patience (or nerve). Yoshiharu sensei really is something, something everyone could be, but few ever are.

I have no comment on the sword practitioners form in this vid, but I do wonder why he wiped of the blade at the end when he would have already got moisture into the saya from numerous noto's performed prior to this! also as a practitioner of Toyama-ryu myself through Nakamura sensei's line I have never seen the reverse noto used in Toyama-ryu! this demo looks like a mixture of Iaido with some Toyama-ryu technique, however this is just my opinion, an no disrespect is intended...

nakamura created this school to train assault troops fighting against Chinese communist guerillas in Northern China. I'm sure this was very effective against the poorly equipped and trained Chinese, but against Americans, these samurai were just massacred with their banzai chargees.

wow cut them already

@ultimatezero117 alright thx, ;-)
Sweet...good old style...can´t beat it. The good thing of old fashion iaido (or any other martial art) is that it keeps things simple...pure concentration is everything you need in life. You see, this sensei won´t neglect a single move...and that my dear 666Namyryu13 beat flashy styles everytime.

SilentGhost29: you are right. i've watched countless demos on video and in person. I've never really felt the zanshin and wabisabi that i feel when i watch him do his thing. it's only him and the sword and maybe i should say it's only thesword/him. they are one.
