Sure wish I could buy my supplies ( gesso etc. ) at your prices,,,we have two art supply stores in our city,,,one will not carry any Bob Ross products,,,when I asked them why they described those products as " high priced junk ".
The other art store has Bob Ross products,,16 ounce gesso,,$ 23.99 ( Can. ) Wal-Mart has a 16 ounce gesso ( Daler-Rowney ) which works perfectly well for $ 9.95.
I bought a soft blender brush ( 2'' ) at the hardware store for $ 8.99, Bob Ross brush $ 19.99, go figure.

first very useful info and ur talented as well i have just started with oils and bought a cheap starter kit for 35 bucks i learned lesson starting out not preping the canvas with acrylic paint or gesso my colors bled into each other and looked like crap how do I fix this with oil paint already apllied to the canvas?

If you ever start a painting and it's not working out right for whatever reason, take a brush dipped in paint thinner, scrub the canvas to thin/loosen the paint and then wipe it off with a paper towel. You may notice the canvas is still stained, there's not much that can be done about it but it shouldn't be a factor once you start painting over it again but very important here, make sure the canvas is dry before you reapply the liquid white/clear. Hope that helped.

I envy your abilities.

I know what you mean...I am very envious of other artists and other people's talents. I really believe anyone can do this, if they have the drive to practice.
