Redemption | Anakin Skywalker

Video about my favourite scene in Return of the Jedi when Vader becomes Anakin again. I was messing around on Wookiepedia and found a paragraph that really sums the scene up perfectly: "Skywalker had never forgotten the pain Count Dooku had once inflicted upon him with the lethal power of Force lightning, and could not bear to see his son in such agony. He had been unable to save his mother, he had let Mace Windu die under Palpatine's powers, he had murdered hundreds of Jedi, he had killed his Master and best friend, he had lost his beloved wife and true love, but he could save his son. Anakin Skywalker would not stand by and let his son fall. From this moment on, Darth Vader was no more, and Anakin Skywalker was reborn."

Doesn't it make you tear up?! I know it makes me very emotional. Anakin/Vader is by far the best character in the Star Wars universe -- heck, the six films are about HIS journey no matter what else is going on around him.

Gah. Love it. Really, really love it.

I actually cried making this -- it was quite difficult to finish -- is that sad? That's sad, isn't it? The music is absolutely beautiful and then of course is the whole plot and everything :( The beginning didn't really turn out how I wanted -- or the part with Obi Wan - but I'm pretty pleased with the rest of it.

"Father...please!"
"Why did she have to die? Why couldn't I save her? I know I could have!"
"What have I done?"
"You were my brother, Anakin! I loved you!"
"Where is Padme? Is she safe? Is she alright?"
"It seems in your anger, you killed her."

Music by the superb Trevor Morris. It's 'A Howling Wilderness/Death of Jane Seymour' from the Tudors season 3 soundtrack.

really sums up his character nicely, its rare that a character goes from good to bad and back again, though he took a dark path he did fulfill the prophecy....loved your summary about the video btw
